The taste of the “Old Neighborhood” (Taylor & Halsted Streets in Chicago) was brought to the suburb of Mt. Prospect, IL in the early 1970’s by the Petrone & Geallis families. It was known for its home style cooking ....... Italian beef and Sausage plus the infamous “Chicago Hotdog” and “Swiss Stix”.
In 1991, a long time employee - Mama Luci bought the restaurant and now her son, Chuck and Donna (her daughter-in-law) have brought the “Old Neighborhood” of Chicago to the East Valley of Gilbert, Arizona. They have added new sandwiches to the menu, but have carried on the concept of real “home style” Chicago cooking.
